Dave Mackowiak and his wife Judy volunteered at the annual Laurel Run to benefit The Resource Center and support people with disabilities. The event was held on July 15th in Silver Creek.

The Laurel Run supports The Resource Center’s disability awareness, prevention and early intervention efforts. Funds raised through Laurel Run are also used to enhance employment and work training opportunities for adults with disabilities, enabling them to become productive, contributing members of society and experience the feelings of pride and satisfaction that come from earning real wages for performing meaningful work.

The Mackowiak’s son Eric, who was born with Down’s Syndrome, attended The Resource Center. Because of the support The Resource Center provided their son, they proudly volunteer their time for the Run each year.
