Job Description

A local CPA firm with over 30 years in the WNY market is seeking an experienced CPA. Due to the retirement plan of the senior partners of the firm, this position has the potential to develop into an equity position in the firm within 2 – 3 years for the right candidate. Our growing client base is geographically located in Erie, Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus Counties. Presently, the team consists of nine professionals and three support staff. Along with “traditional” accounting and auditing functions, our firm also offers a wide range of tax and fiscal management advisory services. The firm has great opportunities for expansion.

 

Minimum Requirements:

• CPA license a must
• 5 years working in a CPA firm – prefer smaller / regional experience
• Ability to present to C-level executives
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to participate in managerial financial presentations

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform and oversee compilations and reviews
• Perform and oversee audits of government, small business, and non-profit entities
• Perform duties related to bookkeeping, tax returns, and financial planning
• Ensure efficiency of the firm’s procedures for a multitude of engagements
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Maintain a high standard of excellence while providing quality service and meeting deadlines
• Willingness to become involved with the community and help build clientele (firm image)
• Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
