Fredonia, NY- (July 30, 2014) – Johnson, Mackowiak & Associates, LLP’s (JMA) Chiavetta’s Chicken BBQ dinner raised over $3,000 during the Joe Karnes Memorial Softball Tournament in Wright Park on Saturday, July 12.

The sun was shining, the ball fields were filled with activity and the grill was fired up hot cooking over 700 delicious chicken dinners.  According to JMA accountant and participating softball player, Keith Mackowiak, “it was a beautiful day in Dunkirk for some softball and great food.”

A portion of the raised funds from the BBQ were donated to the Fredonia and Dunkirk Little League organizations which are also supported by the Joe Karnes Memorial Fund. The remaining portion of the proceeds will go towards funding scholarships for accounting students at the State University of New York at Fredonia through the Fredonia College Foundation.

“We had tremendous support from the community and we cannot thank them enough,” said Mackowiak. “We were all happy to be out there supporting this community event and great cause.”
